I'll delete this thread if the mods ask me to, but, I just wanted to discuss seeing as how a bunch of shit's happening today....

So Im watching Tv, and the 700 Club is on, and i stop for a second to see what stupid shit they're talking about this week, well, I see it's liek a "special report" and it's abotu the whole gay marriage fiasco, then I see, there's phone numbers for voting aginst having gay marriages?! And the dumb old southern guy's going "we need your support" and all this other shit

the media is supporting hate pretty much?

I personally, dont really care either way, but im more for the let them get married, but, I think almost anyone should get married to whoever they want, fuck all this "religion and law states it's a man and a woman" I'd be cool to see a chimp and a giraffe get married!

Anyways, yeah, this adds to the whole Bush pushing for banning gay marriage, and I want to leave you, with a quote from the Governorator himself, Arnold Schwarenabooby:
"this is an outrage, next they'll be handing out m-16s and rocket launchers"

so, what do you guys think? and liek I said, I'll delete it if it pisses anyone off

I'm all for equal rights. If not marriage, then gays should be allowed a partnership with all rights and benefits of marriage.

If Bush is so worried about preserving the sanctity of marriage then why doesn't he just ban divorces?

The whole thing's pretty stupid, imo.
Why is this news?

Why are they bothering people?

I thought gays were already getting married. There's Liza Minelli's husband, for example.

Hey, as long as it's not mandatory and EVERYONE has to marry a gay person, I have no problems. So far, hellfire and brimstone haven't rained down upon us, so God can't mind too much.

I find it interseting that the average person in the country is much more in tune with basic rights than the president is. This is especially tue when it comes to a Constitutional amendment. The Constitution was written as a device to bestow rights, not restrict them.

I love the guys protesting this stuff with the argument that "Adam and Eve" = 10 million americans and "Adam and Steve" = 0...

What? You think forcing gay men to marry women is gonna make them reproduce? And what if the kids inherit the gayness? They just aren't thinking
